This sweeping initiative will promote public awareness through a new brochure, promotional wristbands for children and adults, posters, print and web-based advertisements. Awareness efforts will also target child care centers, community learning centers, park districts, summer camps and after-school programs. Nationwide, some 3 million children suffer from food allergies, including 1 out of 17 children less than 3 years of age.
